How to Submit a Maintenance Request in HelloNido

Report a problem with photos and a description, then follow updates as your landlord works on it. You get a message when the request is done.

A maintenance request sends your property team the details of an issue and keeps its progress visible to you. Add a description and optional photos so they can understand what needs attention.

Submit a request

  1. On Home, tap New Maintenance Request. You can also open the Maintenance tab and tap the plus button.
  2. On New Request, enter an Issue title and Description. Describe what is happening and where.
  3. Open Category and select the category that fits the issue.
  4. Choose an Urgency level.
  5. Add photos if they help explain the problem, then tap Submit Request.

The title, description and category are required. Your request starts as Submitted, and the property team is notified.

Categories and urgency

The categories are:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Appliance
  • HVAC
  • Structural
  • Other

Urgency level offers Low, Medium and High. The form starts with Medium selected. Urgency is separate from the request's progress status.

Add photos

  1. Under Photos, tap Add.
  2. In Add Photos, choose Choose from Library, or use Take a Photo on your phone.
  3. Review the thumbnails. Use a photo's close icon to remove it before submitting.

The form accepts up to five photos. If camera or photo access is blocked, the photo sheet offers Open Settings so you can change that permission.

Check progress

  1. Return to Maintenance and tap your request.
  2. Check its status and Assigned to field. Unassigned means no team member has been selected yet.
  3. Read Activity for the status history.

The list has All, Submitted, Scheduled, In Progress and Completed filters. A completed request remains available for you to review.

For a follow-up, tap Message Management on the request. It opens your management conversation; include the request number so the team knows which issue you mean.

Good to know

  • You can view your own requests. Status changes and assignments are handled by the property's authorized team, not by residents.
  • For help using HelloNido, email hey@hellonido.com; contact your property team about the repair itself.
