How to Set Up Rent Autopay in HelloNido

Turn on autopay so rent pays itself on time. Choose card or bank, and turn it off anytime.

Autopay saves a payment method through Stripe and uses it for your scheduled rent payments. It follows your payment plan, so you do not have to start each scheduled payment yourself.

Find your payment plan

  1. On Home, tap Rent & Payments.
  2. Check your payment-plan card. If your door only offers monthly payments, the monthly plan is selected automatically.
  3. If you need to choose a plan, tap Set up on the payment-plan card and choose from the options offered for your door.

A payment plan and autopay are separate settings. Choosing a schedule does not, by itself, authorize automatic payments.

Turn on autopay

  1. Find the Autopay card and tap Set up.
  2. In Set up autopay, read the authorization and convenience-fee explanation.
  3. Under Payment method, choose Card or Bank. The sheet starts with Card selected.
  4. Tap Save payment method on your phone, or Continue to Stripe in the browser, and complete Stripe's setup.
  5. Return to your rent screen and check for Autopay is on. The card shows the saved method's last digits and the schedule it follows.

If a bank method is still being verified, saving it does not mean autopay is active yet. Wait for verification and check the status again.

Payment timing and fees

  • Autopay follows your selected payment schedule.
  • Bank pulls are scheduled five days before each installment date to allow for settlement.
  • Each automatic payment carries the usual convenience fee. The setup sheet explains this and shows an example when an unpaid charge is available.

Turn it off or resume

  1. To stop future automatic payments, tap Turn off on the autopay card.
  2. Confirm Turn off, or choose Keep autopay to leave it enabled. You will pay charges manually after turning it off.
  3. If you see Autopay paused, tap Resume and re-confirm your payment method through the setup sheet.

After a failed automatic payment, one automatic retry is scheduled three days later. If that retry also fails, autopay pauses. Manual payments remain available while it is paused.

Good to know

  • You need a linked door and a payment plan. Your landlord controls which payment schedules are offered.
  • Three-month prepay plans do not use autopay. Changing to one pauses an enabled autopay plan.
  • The property owner's rent payouts must be ready for automatic collections to run.
